I’m trying to make a difference by making contributions to the amazing organizations, associations, trusts and conservancies that support the National Parks.
The mission of the National Park Service is to preserve the natural and cultural resources and values of the national park system for the enjoyment, education, and inspiration of this and future generations. And my hope is that, in some small way, I can contribute to that mission.
My goal is that by creating these iconic images, I can help to generate awareness — not only of the grandeur of these amazing places — but also for the need of continued protection and operation of the parks, so that everyone — now and in the future — will have a chance to enjoy the often-fascinating and always awe-inspiring majesty of our National Parks.
In 2016, I made financial contributions to each of these organizations:
The National Park Foundation $1000
Friends of Great Smoky Mountains National Park $250
The Yosemite Conservancy $250
Yellowstone Forever $250
The Glacier Conservancy $250
The Western National Parks Association $250
Eastern National $250
Washington’s National Park Fund $250
Friends of Acadia $250
In addition, I donated posters and postcards to the following organizations, which they used in their silent auctions and other fundraising efforts. In most cases, these items garnered more than their retail value and contributed directly to their financial goals.
The Glacier Conservancy
Washington’s National Park Fund
I also donated posters to the following organizations who asked for my help in their fundraising efforts, which in 2016, were centered around the 100th Anniversary of the National Park Service.
New Jersey Conservation Foundation
Martin Luther School (New York)
Nederland Elementary School (Colorado)
In all, this amounted to more than $5,000.00 in contributions, the majority of which went directly to these organizations to fund their education programs, trail restoration, capital improvements, and much, much more!
